Panasonic 14.4V Li-ion Impact Driver Kit. Panasonic's EY7540LN2S 14.4V Li-ion Imapct Driver works hard, stays cool and comfortable. The EY7540LN2S's 1,330 in.lbs power and 3 speeds make short work for tough jobs.. It's lightweigh of 3.1lbs, compact style reduce fatigue, while its 14.4V 3.0ah Li-ion battery deliverys the run time needed to complete the days work. The EY7540LN2S new brushless motor and electronic switch increase the motors lifespan by about twice as long as our conventional motor. The EY7540LN2S 3.0Ah Li-ion battery pack has an "electronic performance monitoring system." The electronic performance monitoring system monitors each cell in the battery pack during use and also during charging to prevent overdischarging and overheating. The EY7540LN2S kit includes: 14.4V Impact Driver, 2 - 3.0Ah Li-ion battery packs, 1 universal charger, 1 carry case.

I haven't found anything in the screw sizes that really bogs this tool down. The length of battery life is also a real +++. Working on boats and yachts I use many fasteners of materials very susceptible to torque and breaking (brass, stainless, etc). The three levels of speed and torque are a real benefit and an aid in reducing the number of sheared screw heads.
As far as power I did not notice the additional torque over my older model but what I like best about the new impact driver is the brushless motor and the very linear speed control. Panasonic has done it again. I feel this is worth the extra $$$ I can run the driver as low as 50 rpm's for starting small screws. I traded my Panasonic 12 volt impact driver with digital clutch for the new Lithium Ion driver. You really notice the weight reduction and perfect balance that few manufactures have been able to achieve.
